Our school programs go beyond just attending concerts. We have two unique programs that give students the opportunity to see a how a symphony concert happens the behind-the-scenes. Symphony @ WorkGrade 7 & 8 This program is offered to students in grades in 7 & 8. Students attend a brief portion of a KWS rehearsal and then take a guided tour to interview the people behind the scenes that make it all happen. From learning what the conductor does to what the lighting technician does, this program gives students a glimpse of the wide range of distinct careers in the arts performance field. Curriculum Connections: arts (music); information technology. This program gives students a glimpse of at least ten distinct jobs, such as: Conductor, Musician, Stage Hand, Sound Engineer, Lighting Technician, House Manager, During the tour, students can interact with each of these specialists, listen to them describe their
jobs and ask them questions. Prior to their visit, the class will receive supplementary materials with information about the KWS, the concert hall and all the people involved. Design a Concert
