"I first heard Flicka when I was a teenager in Monteverdi’s Return of Ulysses. The final moment of that opera, when
the long-separated husband and wife finally embrace,
was shattering and unforgettable. I don’t think I had
ever heard a singer who could portray such beauty and
honesty at the same time. As an artist, she’s the ultimate
"real thing." There’s nothing put on, just music and
acting in their purest forms.
I had the good fortune to meet Flicka during my time with the San Francisco Symphony.
She was a frequent and beloved guest there and over the years, we’ve become friends.
This is her farewell tour. We’re delighted to present Frederica von Stade for a weekend
of music and festivities that you will never forget! Please join us.

Planning you Fête Experience
Parking
Please be aware that there is ongoing, major construction on King Street between City Hall and Benton Street. Unfortunately, there will still be construction taking place directly in front of the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts (formerly King Street Theatre Centre) on September 18th and 19th. We apologize for any inconvenience and have been working with both the City of Kitchener and the Kitchener BIA to arrange for accessible parking alternatives for our patrons.
Friday
We are providing a free GRT shuttle bus service between the Centre in the Square main entrance and the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts. You may leave your car at CITS and use the shuttle for transport to and from the After Party. This is a free service to our patrons. The shuttle runs from 9pm to midnight on September 18th.
Alternatively, you may park your car at the City of Kitchener parking garage at Duke and Ontario Streets for the After Party. It is a short distance from the parking garage to the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts (formerly King Street Theatre Centre) front entrance. This is an automated parking garage, but we have arranged with the City of Kitchener to provide free exit that evening.
Saturday
For patrons attending The Diva Brunch at Peter Martin’s 20 King Restaurant, please park in the City of Kitchener parking lot directly behind 20 King and access the restaurant through the back door (facing the parking lot). Lot can be accessed from Queen or Ontario.

We thank all our patrons for their continued support during our recent transition to a new ticketing system and our move to the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts (formerly King Street Theatre Centre). There will be KWS Patron Service Representatives onsite in the lobby at the Centre In The Square to attend to any of your ticketing needs. Please come see us if you have concerns or questions whatsoever.
Tickets to the After Party and The Diva Brunch will still be on sale throughout the evening of September 18th.
