Four works with avian titles grace this winged program: Haydn's entertaining La poule symphony, Respighi's Gli uccelli (his attempt to transcribe birdsong), Boccherini's delicate L'uccelliera quintet, and Vivaldi's well-loved Cuckoo violin concerto.

Eric Paetkau is Resident Conductor of the Quebec-based chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy. He joins your KWS for Haydn's Schoolmaster and Tempora mutantur symphonies, and a performance of the piece Wagner wrote as a romantic gift to his wife following the birth of their son, Siegfried.
