Music is an important teaching tool for the very young and becomes a means of personal expression as they grow into young adults. The vast array of programs we offer engages them at all points in their exploration and education starting with Kinderconcerts for the wee ones to school shows and the Generations Series for school aged kids and the Youth Orchestra for musicians on the cusp of their professional careers.

The KWS Youth Orchestra Program has a 40 year tradition of music education and outreach in the KW region and beyond. Our intensive Orchestral Training Program offers instruction and inspiration for young musicians from early ages through high school and university level, on all instruments of the contemporary symphony orchestra. Organized in progressive levels, the four ensembles (Youth Strings, Valhalla Brass, Sinfonia and Youth Orchestra), present their own concert series at CITS and perform throughout the Waterloo region, reaching out to many arts organizations and community groups of all ages.
