REPORT OF THE KITCHENER-WATERLOO
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
The Committee last met on Thursday, July 16, 2009 and discussed the
short-list panel of candidates in connection with the fulfillment of its mandate.
The following board members have agreed to serve and will be nominated for reappointment:
- Carolyn Arnason
- Willy Heffner
- Charles Morrison
Both Carolyn and Willy will be nominated for a one year term, in compliance with the by-laws.
Two individuals will be nominated to fill vacancies:
Mark is a senior executive at RIM, having moved to Waterloo Region within the last few years from the US. He is in charge of research and reports to Mike Lazaridis, co-CEO. Mark has a musical background and has been involved in arts governance.
John is recently retired as CEO of Canada’s Technology Triangle, the regional economic development partnership for Waterloo Region.
The Committee is very pleased with the quality of the two new individuals and their eagerness to contribute to the success of KWS, and also the willingness of the three existing board members to continue their service.
